CUSTOM DESIGN

Christina Howton Design is a custom design studio creating luxury pieces for events.

We create all of our projects from scratch. This thoughtful process incorporates delicate details into the design your event to provide a cohesive vision.
The lead designer, Christina, started her career as a marketing, advertising and event designer for a local publishing and magazine company.
She has worked in the design field for 20 years. She has always approached her design to make all the pieces feel as if they live happily within the same family.
We will only work with a few commissions per year, so please reach out to us as soon as you secure your wedding date.

Developing your Brand

Our initial process begins with developing a style for your event. This foundation includes fonts, colors, textures, patterns and icons. Our goal is to create a cohesive vision to carry throughout the entire event.

Stationery

Our stationery path may include a save the date or may start with the invitation suite. We believe that subtleties with texture, materials, as well as unique printing methods will elevate your pieces. Our design is never the same and pushes the envelope (pun intended) on the traditional suite. Our ultimate goal is to create pieces that truly reflect you, but also something your guests talk about for years and save to show others for years to come.

Gifting

Part of the fun is sourcing the perfect pieces to carry out the style of your event. This process typically takes some time, but we revel in the perfect piece found to pull your design together. Wow your guests with the perfect welcome gift or immerse gifting stations at your event.

The Day or Weekend

From the tiny details to larger moments, it all comes together for the weekend with the finishing touches. We work with the rest of your vendor team to create pieces that meld with the floral centerpieces or your chosen place settings.

OUR OFFERINGS

Websites

Carry out your established style and design with a custom website. We create our websites from scratch on the Squarespace platform. We can handle updates as well as response tracking.

Travel

We are available for a handful of destination events throughout the year. Because our calendar fills quickly, please inquire as soon as you have a firm date in mind.

THE PROCESS

  • Once we receive your inquiry, we will reach out to schedule a call. Once we have an idea of all you are looking for, we will provide a proposal. If you are ready to move forward, we will send you an email with links for the contract, timeline and deposit which will reserve a spot in our calendar. After you are officially booked with CHD, we will create your design deck for review.

  • Once we receive your official booking we begin working on your design deck. We prefer our clients to book with us once you have secured your date and venue. Typically we need 12 months for custom design development. Once the design deck is approved, we will begin working on the other elements of the suite.

  • During each part of the process, you will receive proofs to review and revise. Once they are approved, we will send you an approval form and your final invoice. After those are completed, we send everything to our printing partner. We handle all mailings and have all pieces hand canceled at our local post office. We also will hold onto any extra pieces and mail any other suites needed after the initial mailing.

Let us handle the gifting for your most favorite people. We love the hunt for the best pieces compliment to your overall design aesthetic. From the welcome itinerary to the snacks, we are happy to curate the perfect selections.
